Our Work

CCCIP strives to promote positive change in the recognition and support for children with incarcerated parents by convening people and resources to demonstrate the need for and benefits of specialized supports.

Amplifying Research

Since children of incarcerated parents are not recognized as a distinct marginalized subgroup in Canada, until recently, virtually all the research used to advocate for and develop specialized supports was conducted in other countries. While valuable, international research does not fully reflect Canadian realities. CCCIP both helps foster research collaborations and amplifies the results of our members’ work to help raise awareness of children’s needs and advocate for children’s rights to be prioritized by Canada’s justice system.

Canadian Resource Library

In one place, our Resource Library brings together Canadian research, white papers, information and tools to support children who experience parental incarceration.
